I just got an email from Chaosium customer support that said they wouldn't be releasing BRP until at least December because they "want to get the cover art right :)".

Cheers Loz - but as it says, the substance is Howard's, I just tweaked the focus and added the appendices.

As for the Grey Fees / mittel marches and the seas of fate - I'd only recently read the Dreamthief's Daughter and whilst I think you (and Howard) are right that essentially the intention is that the Grey Fees described in that book are meant to be the Mittelmarches of the Warhond and World's Pain and the City in the Autumn Stars, they didn't feel like it to me - all this (explicitly stated) stuff about "a realm of perfect balance" felt (and still feels, if I'm honest), like MM wanted something different and (as usual!) didn't really care about detailed continuity with past writing. His perogative, but the extent to which the Dreamthief's Daughter and the Second Ether books feel like they are wilfully contradicting / revising earlier works rather soured my enjoyment of them. I must confess I've not bothered with the Skrayling Tree or White Wolf's Son, nor the War Amongst the Angels.

I always found the vision of the space between planes as the shifting "limbo" of the seas of fate, and the mittelmarches as simply adjacent planes in indefinite conjuntion with our earth much more compelling personally, and I confess I was probably pushing that interpretation a bit whilst tweaking the piece for a Million Spheres.

Excellent stuff, Nick. Especially the Morphail Effect rules. It should be noted that The Grey Fees are only documented in Michael Moorcock’s fairly recent fiction (first appearing in the Second Ether Trilogy, and being linked to the Elric saga in The Dreamthief’s Daughter). This is true, but prior to that we had the Middle/Mittelmarch which MM refers to in the Von Bek and Ereokose novels and also in the most recent comics. I haven't been back through and compared how all these references work together or how alike/unalike they are, but it strikes me that the Grey Fees and Middlemarch are the same territories with different names. If so, then they're not really 'recent' additions - just given a different name (to confuse us all with).
